OnePlus 8 to be announced April 12-14

OnePlus 8 will be announced on April 14 during a live online broadcast, the company announced today. OnePlus says the lineup will consist of a "full range of 5G devices," and there will be one device with a 120Hz display on the line. Two main devices are expected to launch at the event, OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, although recent reports have stated that they can join a third, cheaper device called "OnePlus Z".

In addition to the official details provided by OnePlus about its new devices, there have been several leaks and rumors about what the company plans to present on its latest phones.

In terms of design, phones are expected to ditch the pop-up selfie camera found on last year's Pro devices in favor of the notches. Leaks said the device will be available in green, black and a "interstellar glow" fluorescent color. At the rear, the Pro is expected to include four rear cameras, while the standard OnePlus 8 can only have three.

You can see the launch on the OnePlus website and also on the company's YouTube channel. The launch is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. ET, scheduled for April 14.

Correction: This piece originally referred to the OnePlus 8 series as the "eighth generation" of the company's phones. However, the company skipped the OnePlus 4, making the OnePlus 8 the seventh numbered phone in the series.
